FAQ & Knowledge Base

Answers on AI NAS performance, OEM/ODM ordering, OS compatibility, warranty and data protection - straight from our engineers.

FAQ

Hardware & Specs

Standard 1GbE connections create a bottleneck when editing multi-cam 4K ProRes video or transferring large AI datasets. Dual 10GbE (SFP+ or RJ45) delivers roughly 10x the throughput of 1GbE, unlocking full NVMe pool performance and seamless multi-user editing.

Fix slow SMB transfer speeds with these steps:

  • Enable Jumbo Frames (MTU 9000) on both NAS and network switch.
  • Disable SMB signing in Windows/Linux if running in a secure local network.
  • Ensure RAM ARC/Write Cache is enabled in ZFS/Btrfs file systems.
  • Upgrade from Cat5e to Cat6a/Cat7 cabling for 2.5G/10G connections.

The system features an integrated USB-HID UPS auto-shutdown interface. When connected to a UPS, the NAS automatically detects power loss and initiates a graceful safe shutdown script, preventing metadata corruption on ZFS/Btrfs file systems.

FAQ

Software & OS Compatibility

Yes. Our NAS systems run on open x86 architecture with unlocked UEFI BIOS. You can freely install TrueNAS SCALE, unRAID, Proxmox VE, OpenMediaVault, Ubuntu Server, or Windows Server via USB boot drive.

FAQ

AI Workloads & Optimization

To prevent NAS freezing during heavy AI tasks, separate storage from compute and limit Docker resources:

  1. Offload AI Inference: direct machine learning tasks to an Intel QuickSync iGPU or an external NPU/GPU node.
  2. Cap CPU & RAM in Docker: set resource limits in your docker-compose.yml (e.g., cpus: '2.00') to reserve system CPU for storage IOPS.
  3. Use SSD Storage Pools: place your Immich or Vector DB database on an NVMe SSD pool rather than mechanical HDDs.

Yes, an Intel N100 NAS can run lightweight 4-bit quantized local LLMs (e.g., Llama-3-8B-Instruct or Qwen-7B) using Ollama or LocalAI. With OpenVINO and iGPU acceleration, it handles local RAG document searches and vector embedding (ChromaDB) for small offices at low power draw.

FAQ

OEM/ODM & Ordering

No. Our hardware features zero vendor lock-in. You can install any standard 3.5-inch SATA HDDs (Seagate, Western Digital, Toshiba) or 2.5-inch/M.2 NVMe SSDs without warnings, software restrictions, or degraded SMART health monitoring.

For custom laser-engraved logos and custom packaging, our OEM program is flexible and quoted per project in writing. Deep hardware ODM customization (custom PCB layout, BIOS branding, or custom enclosure tooling) is scoped to your timeline and confirmed per project. Contact our OEM team with your requirements for a tailored quotation and production schedule.

FAQ

Shipping, Warranty & Support

No. RAID provides hardware redundancy and uptime, NOT backup. To protect against ransomware, accidental deletion, or catastrophic hardware failure, follow the 3-2-1 Backup Rule: keep 3 copies of data on 2 different media types, with 1 copy stored offsite (e.g., encrypted cloud or remote NAS).

We provide a 3-year standard factory warranty. For B2B clients, we offer an expedited RMA Parts Replacement policy: key modules (power supply, fans, motherboard) are shipped directly via air express for instant on-site replacement without returning the entire chassis.
